BLACK AND WHITE
Interior Design
Year of completion: 2015
The client, a professional athlete currently living in Berlin, requested an interior design for a weekend apartment in the center of Prague.
The client’s openness to unconventional solutions, combined with the atypical layout, provided an opportunity to approach the space from a fresh perspective. What we could, we carefully restored, while the rest was transformed into a modern form, respecting the flowing history of the space.
The hidden black kitchen with a granite countertop and the snow-white wall with sliding panels enhance the overall impression of the interior. The space is complemented by furniture in minimalist shades of black and white.
The doors with decorative paneling, referencing the original architecture, were repeated in other unusual locations, such as the upholstered headboard of the bed and the sliding doors with stained glass. One of the elements visually belonging to the present is the custom-designed, comfortable sofa, created for weekend relaxation.
