The client’s brief initially resembled a utopian exercise in how to fit all the functions typically reserved for apartments at least 20 m² larger into a relatively small space.

We’re talking about the possibility of sleeping in a proper bed instead of being a slave to a pull-out sofa, as is common in studio apartments. The challenge was to incorporate enough storage space, create a kitchen where real cooking can take place—not just reheating—and still include a spacious bathroom.

But why not give it a try? After all, we always say that we love challenges.
